One of the concepts that is sometimes difficult to communicate
to “vanilla” people about BSDM/D&S is the idea of “on top” and “on bottom.”
People see a caning happening and they can’t understand why a person would
enjoy pain. Isn’t that a universally negative thing, pain? How could another
person inflict pain unless they are angry or hate the other person?
But they need to understand that the ropes, the chains, the
pain, the costumes, whatever it is, isn’t really about that thing itself. It’s
a symbol, it’s a prop, and all of it is about establishing dominance for one person
and submission for another person. For me at least, that’s where it all starts.
Understand the base, and you can probably grasp any other concept within the
BDSM world.
Power exchange. One person wants to be in control. One
person wants to be controlled. Forget the why for now, and just accept that some people feel that way. How is the question. How do we establish that then? How can I
demonstrate that I’m in control of you, or vice versa? Well, there is of course the classic spanking,
and tying up etc… But there’s another way to skin that proverbial cat.
If a person is sitting in an empty room on a chair, and you
were asked to determine which was “in charge”, the person or the chair? Would the
answer be difficult? One of them is a thinking, acting human being,
and the other is an object. It’s a tool for the use of the person. So what if
you take two people and make one of them into a kind of chair. Have them kneel
down of the floor and the other person sit on them. For my money, that pretty
clearly demonstrates which of them is literally on top.
How about this? What if a person and a dog are in a room?
The dog is on the leash and obedient to the person. Which of them is in charge?
Perhaps it becomes clearer why the fetish of human furniture exists and why
many people love the idea of being made to look and act like a dog or horse or
some other animal which is lesser than humans on the ladder.
Does that persona actually want to be turned into a chair?
Is there something sexy about having wooden arms and legs, or it is just that
it so clearly establishes dominance and submission? How about the puppy
play/pony play thing? Does someone actually want to turn into a furry fluffy
dog? (probably there are people out there who do) but for most people into
that, it’s just a great fun way to show that you’re not in control, your Master/Mistress is.
Here is a drawing I did of a muscleman in a dog suit. To further
his submission, his Mistress has devised a much more devious method for “leashing”
him in pace. She’s pulled his balls through the floor, and locked them
underneath.

For me the thrilling thing about Objectification is the total loss of identity, getting into the "head space" where you simply don't exist anymore... for a while!
ReplyDeleteYes. That's the best. And once in a while it's so good and so deep that you reach "sub space" where it's like you're high. Sometimes I get there and I can't even talk. It's an ethereal experience.
