Elvira: Mistress of my youth

I had to say a little something about Elvira because I've loved her so much for a long time. Her heyday was in an era when the satanic panic ran rampant and still she managed to be acceptable on television and on teen's walls. Parents probably didn't like her, but for the most part it felt like they turned a blind eye.

That black Gothic outfit is probably why still to this day I drool for a hot goth girl. (for about 5 seconds in a flashback, Claire from Lost was goth, and she NEVER looked so good.) Of course Elvira blatantly featuring her boobs was another important aspect. The giant bouffant hair the caked on makeup, the ridiculously long nails. It was all so great to a horny teen boy (and still is).

Her personality too is very important. Of course Elvira is a character created and portrayed by Kasandra Peterson who deserves credit for the birth of a national icon that will outlive her. She enjoys and flaunts her sexuality, unashamed and happy. She is silly and fun, but not a bimbo, in fact a quick whit clearly shows her intelligence.

If you've never seen Kasandra sans costume, it's a head trip to realize that this ultra-goth lady is in real life a ginger. And a word on the boobs. I walked in on a discussion in a coffee shop recently about whether they are real or fake. I say they are real, but of course the dress pushes them up, and she certainly does some contouring makeup on the cleavage to get the most out of what she's naturally got.

If you know otherwise, keep your mouth shut and down't ruin it for me. :)
