Why do we love transformations?

Our culture is saturated by transformation. Not just in the sissy community, but in the world as well. Shows about transforming a person from fat to thin, or a house from ugly to beautiful, or a car from junk to hot rod are everywhere.

It might be easy to think that we're obsessed because Hollywood is jamming these shows down our gullet and we're eating them up like good little automatons. But I'd actually argue that these shows aren't creating our ravenous desire for transformation, they are merely capitalizing on it.

Interestingly, I feel like if we do ever get sick of transformation, it will be largely because of the nature of entertainment to bandwagon hop until everyone is so sick of something no one can stand it anymore.

Even in my own art, though it is usually very difficult for me to predict which drawings will be best received, I can usually count on any illustration depicting a before and after (and usually some kind of in between) will get a lot of page views and will be well liked.

But why? Why is it better to see a beautiful sissy after you've seen the ugly schlub of a guy she used to be? Or that house with it's bright paint and nice clean floors only after we saw the dump it was?

My speculation is beauty and ugliness are not absolutes, but are relative (eye of the beholder and all.) By seeing a transformation, we are provided with a baseline with which to compare the end product. Sure that hotrod is snazzy, but check out the rusty pile of crap it used to be. Wow! Sure this sissy's tits are big, but look at them compared to the flat chest she used to have. Gazonga!

Here's an example of a picture I did that I actually hate. However it has gotten more page views and likes than some of my stand alone art that I think is far superior.
