The Pioneers: Robert Bishop

Bishop was a fetish artist who died in the early 90's. His work almost exclusively featured female submissives, and most of his art featured black and white ink.

Some of the things that I found interesting about his work: He would often play with perspective, drawing a subject from an unusual angle. He would also sometimes draw a single image from multiple angles in order to fully illustrate what was happening in his drawing. And perhaps my favorite is that almost every image he ever drew featured some kind of strict bondage.

I find his work to be technically very skilled, and he clearly loves his subject matter and explores it with a passion and ardor that is contagious, even if female submission isn't one's main cup of tea. I was hooked right away when I saw a drawing of his. And I speculate that his style and subject matter has heavily influenced one of the modern greats Simon Benson.

Here are a couple of examples of his work. I chose one because it's one of the few femdom pictures of his I've seen. And the other because it features a machine which is a favorite subject of mine in relation to bondage.
